KNEE PAIN

Knee Pain

The knee joint’s main function is to bend, straighten, and bear the body’s weight along with the ankles and hips. The knee, more than just a simple hinged joint, also twists and rotates. To perform all of these actions and support the entire body while doing so, the knee relies on a number of structures, including bones, ligaments, tendons, and cartilage.

Knee pain is the most common musculoskeletal complaint and refers to pain in and around your knee joint. Problems with the knee joint itself can cause it, or it can be caused by conditions affecting the soft tissues — ligaments, tendons or bursae — that surround the knee. You should make an appointment with your doctor if you think you could be experiencing one of these conditions.
