Ashleigh DiMaggio grew up in Brandon, Mississippi. She works with AVALA Ortho as a Physician Assistant.

Ashleigh received a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from the University of Southern Mississippi. She has a Master’s of Science in Management from Faulkner University and a Master’s of Science in Medicine from Mississippi College. She worked as an athletic trainer for four years in the college, high school, and clinic settings before obtaining her physician assistant degree. She also completed over 26 weeks of hands-on training in orthopedic surgery during PA school. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME). She also holds an athletic trainer certification credentialed by the Board of Certification (BOC). She is a member of the Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Louisiana Academy of Physician Assistants (LAPA).

Ashleigh’s passion for orthopedics and healthcare began in high school. After working as a certified athletic trainer for several years, she wanted to expand her scope of practice. The role of a Physician Assistant was the perfect fit.

My approach to orthopedic care is centered on the whole patient – understanding their goals, relieving pain, and restoring function so they can return to the activities that matter most.

I’m excited to join AVALA Orthopedics and be a part of a team that is truly committed to exceptional patient care and helping our community stay active and healthy.

When she is not treating patients, Ashleigh enjoys fishing, traveling and spending time with family, friends, and her miniature schnauzer, Milo.
